How to Navigate an Office Romance
Question: In order to preserve my relationships with both, I've always stuck by a policy of keeping my personal life (my friendships and romantic involvements) separate from my professional life (my colleagues and supervisor). My friends tell me I'm being old-fashioned, and I have many colleagues who have made friendly overtures toward me, including one who has politely expressed romantic interest. Should I continue to keep my personal life completely separate from my private life, or is it okay to let the lines blur a little?
Answer: Thank you for this question because I think the presupposition is that you choose to be an integrity and thrive both personally and professionally which I completely respect.I think you're also aware that if things don't work out romantically… how it could make things uncomfortable for everyone in a work environment.
