So You’re Frustrated? Now What?

Motherhood is sooo fabulous and yet can be sooo frustrating, right?

How many of us are willing to admit we’d like to trade them in! ( I love my boy beyond words, but I’ve had my human moments!)

Yet, how many of us have a plan in place for when we get triggered?

How many of us move past and dissolve the guilt and take time for ourselves?

How many of us have stopped making excuses and created a foundation upon, which we can thrive?

How many of us have trained our environment to support us taking time for ourselves?

I know it took me a while to work through all of these questions, yet it’s imperative that we do, if we want to enjoy motherhood and be the kind of mom our kids deserve. That’s why I call my book, The Missing Handbook to Motherhood… because there were these keys, tools, insights and points of view that I needed in order to thrive and given when mama’s happy, everybody’s happy and I needed you to have them ALL!

The first step is to choose to have ease, fun and vibrancy as a mom (or your favorite words!!).

Then stop making excuses… I used to ask this one person to help out but they’d always let me down! I was more addicted to complaining about them and poor me… rather than change who I asked to help me, someone I could rely on, so that I could get on with my rocking life! The icky place I had to find peace with was that, I was addicted to my complaining… not so sexy… and now of course I’m much happier, have no victim friends and take full responsibility for creating my life. It’s mature. It can be intense. Yet it’s SO fulfilling.

Next decide what you’re going to do with your mom time!  Where do you get the biggest bang for your buck? Where do you want your precious time to be spent? with who? how? I love pilates, getting my nails done, an afternoon at the spa, wine with a positive nourishing girlfriend… and of course a wonderful sexual sensual experience!!!

I know this is WAY easier said than done, so celebrate the small wins and if you ‘fall’, that’s perfect too! Toddlers don’t walk on their first try! Neither do we! So stay present, one step one day and one moment at a time, glorious woman. I’m here for you. HUGE DELICIOUS love, Allana oxox

Let’s talk Summer Skivvies

OK… so I’m on third street promenade in Santa Monica, CA waiting to go on ‘set’ to be filmed for Ricki Lake’s promo… and I start talking to this fabulous woman, Lisa Vogel who owns a swimsuit company. Just like we’ve seen in all the before and after shots in magazines, she swears that a great suit for YOU is the key.

I’m going to interview her for my Redefining Sexuality Membership, so you can see me look so so and then succulently fabulous! I’ll put a mini version on youtube if you’d like me to… let me know!

So that’s the outside style tip… be willing to find a suit you LOVE and that loves you.

The outside physical tips is NOT to judge your body now, instead LOVE getting moving, getting out in the world, exploring nature on hikes, practice BEING in action, out there in the world, embracing the moment in it’s fullness as YOU! This also is a form of exercise, which will make you feel stronger, while boosting your metabolism and easily shedding pounds, which will inspire you to eat fresh healthy foods as well! Thus by the time you hit the beach, you feel adventurous, strong and ready for celebrating summer.

The key once at the beach is NO COMPARING unless you want to feel awful. There will always be people thinner and heavier… watch how easy it is to judge yourself for being bigger than some, or judge others for being bigger than you! Instead, from your place of adventure you can celebrate you AND who you meet.

And between now and then, make a practice of standing naked (or in your skivvies) in front of the mirror praising the hell out of your bodacious bod! See through the eyes of the Divine… focus on all the good parts… send love and adoration to the parts you normally judge. I did this with Leeza for Dancing with the Stars… it works!!!

NOTHING is more freeing than being present to the moment, your body doesn’t even cross your mind, you’re expressed, alive, enjoying the experience… AND that’s also totally sexy by the way… self consciousness isn’t attractive… but confidence with who you are, ALL your parts, is magnetically irresistible.

You can do this… what would it take for this to be your best summer yet?

His upcoming book Style Secrets of the Red Carpet: Style from the Inside-Out, is an invaluable guide to dressing with confidence, power, ease and maximum oomph!

In this book he takes the style skills he’s developed in over twenty-five years of designing fashion, television and cinema, and marries them to a system of metaphysical, psychological and spiritual exercises that will radically change alter ideas about how you look and change what you say to yourself when you look in the mirror.

This fresh approach to dressing will enable you to eliminate the barrier between you and your inner beauty, and equip you with the “insider” knowledge necessary to re-create yourself in your own image!

Intimate Conversations ~ Highlights with Traci Carman

What a beautiful call last night! Traci was wonderful to talk to, sharing about Domestic Violence in her past, setting boundaries in your family, and practicing good communication with your spouse and how that leads to a good connection. It made me feel safe to open up about my divorces and discuss that in conjunction. If you missed this call you can catch up at http://allanapratt.com/conversations.

Traci Carman has been a mother for over 20 years and has three children. She is a parenting coach, speaker and author. She has been sharing prenatal bonding and intuitive parenting with others since 1989. She has been interviewed on the radio, and has appeared on TV.

She is a Certified Reiki Master, Performance Consultant, Master Results Coach, and Trainer of NLP and Neurological Repatterning, as well as being certified in Meditation. She enjoys blending her love of children, parenting, and energy healing in a beautiful, intuitive way to support families in connecting with their own inner wisdom and intuition. She is a Mom on a Mission for Conscious Parenting ~ starting before birth.

Traci is a supporter of APPPAH (Association of Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and Health), was a past Coordinator for MOMS Club International – Vineyards Chapter, and she has served on the PTA Board in her community. She has volunteered in the classroom and public school system for 15 years, and has several years of experience homeschooling her children.

Traci Carman is the Founder of A Loving Way ~ How I Parent Makes a Difference, and she is on the leading edge of connecting spirituality and emotional and physical well-being in families through conscious and intuitive parenting. Her mission is to bring to the forefront of our society an awareness of the importance and value of connecting with and understanding our children, beginning before birth. Through her own life experience of mothering, marriage, divorce, single parenting, co-parenting, and now, having a blended family, she brings a wealth of knowledge and wisdom to others who are on their own path of self-discovery.

Traci’s philosophy is that we are all born knowing who we are and why we are here. However, as we grow up, we forget. We then go through years of counseling, self-help and various other means, in the hopes of finding ourselves again. She feels it is time that we begin supporting our children in remembering who they are from the very beginning, thus creating a life of love, acceptance and confidence, rather than anger, disconnection and loss. In order to effectively parent our children in this way, we must reconnect to ourselves and remember who we are. In this journey within ourselves, we reignite our intuitive ability to truly support our children.

Traci Carman is the creator of Bonding with Baby Before Birth ~ a Workshop, and the “Who I Am” Energy Cards. She is a freelance writer and has been writing the Family Forum column for over six years.
