New Kid Looking For Friends

New Kid Looking For Friends

Q: I recently transferred schools and I decided to change my major as it was not offered at my old school. The upside: better campus, more opportunities, and a great program. The downside is I don’t know anybody. Most people bond in their freshman year and find their group and I am a sophomore and feel so out of place. Any help with this?

A: I acknowledge your courage to follow what works for you. It is true, a lot of people do bond during their first year; but, it is also true that a lot of people transfer. It is also possible that people who bonded their first year may be looking to move on. Begin to let go of conclusions and open yourself to possibilities.
