Who Cares What They Think!?
As moms and amazing women I think it is really important that we be ourselves. So many of us spend so much of our energy trying to do, be and look like we feel other people expect us to do, be and look like. We want to please other people and end up shortchanging ourselves.
I love makeup. I love doing my nails. I love doing my hair. I love dressing up. Growing up, others made me feel like those things I loved were shallow, vain qualities. I was the same person I am now, but my appearance led others to make false judgments about me. I let those impressions hold me back on being who I truly was.
For other women, it goes the other way. Society looks at some women and doesn’t see the beauty of them because they are distracted by their simple plainness or natural tendencies. Oh, I know how these women feel. How unfair to all of my sisters that they feel they have to conform to what others expect in order to be accepted.
I have decided to just be myself. The whole, beautiful, fun, manicured, styled and dressed to the nines self that I want to be. This is who I am and I officially stop apologizing for being this woman who loves to dress up and loves to be a shining woman. Join me. Be yourself.>
