Allana, what is your view on “The Prenup” Relationship Contract

I am loving the depth of your questions lately, wow!

Question:

Allana, what do you think of the Prenup Relationship Contract?

Answer:

Peronally, I’ve been on both sides of this. In the first case, we did have a prenup and it did not make for a “smooth” divorce and nothing good came of it for either of us. Just pain. On the other hand, the second time around, I ended up NOT having a prenup and then ended up losing a whole lot.

So, I’ve been burned on both ends and I wish I had the courage and capacity to have the tough conversations. It can be something as simple as, “I love you and want this to be forever. But just in case something happens down the road, let’s do what we can right now to make it as painless and as smooth as possible. And never talk about it again.”

Deals, in general, are a good idea and can make a relationship more solid. For example, date night once a week. Or, promise to always celebrate on a certain day. Couples often avoid talking about these things before the marriage, but having that level or clarity and openness from the start could set you up to have the best relationship possible. Knowing what they require, knowing what YOU require and just put it down and go for it.

Any questions that you have that are difficult to be having with your partner at this time, or if you need need a third party to hold space and maintain respect and honor, it would be a privilege for me to support you and your beloved.

To a future of limitless possibilities for you both,

Allana
