What Is the Appeal of Chasing the Unavailable?

Question: Why do we want what we can’t have?

Answer: What a great question! I’ve got three responses for that. The first is to be safe! A long term relationship is probably a way to stay safe and alone because logistically they hardly ever work.

Sometimes it has something to do with your self-esteem. You choose people that just won’t work. It affirms that you’re not enough. Acknowledge this behavior and see that you’re amazing! You’re enough!

It may also be because of the mentality that life would be boring if we find someone and fall in love. We can get addicted to the chase. You can’t think that way. It would be the beginning of a whole new phase of adventure!
