Q: My wedding is in two weeks and I had a huge falling out with my mother. I lost contact with my father when I was young so she is my only family. What should I do? She is being really stubborn but I feel as if I should cave in just so she will be at my wedding. My concern is that caving in will only implode in the long run.
A: Going against your truth is always going to bite you in the ass. Letting someone dominate you may come back to haunt you BUT I don’t think entertaining her in order to have her at your wedding is bad. This is your day, in your heart it is what you want, could it implode – sure; however, what is worse – it imploding because you invited her or regretting that you didn’t once the two of you made up?
